The Cowichan Valley’s live music destination is back on track with its exciting live music scene.
Featuring top-notch acts and enjoyable atmosphere, the Osborne Bay Pub venue in Crofton is going full steam ahead with acts booked through the summer already.
It all began with the Osborne Bay Pub welcoming David Gogo for a New Year’s Eve gig and then Edie Daponte, a longtime favourite, returned for a dinner and show performance on the weekend leading up to Valentine’s Day.
Things really got cranked up again Saturday, March 19 with a full house enjoying the high-energy sounds of The Soul Shakers.
It’s just like old times, with the room filled with excitement and joy, for Berry Music Company’s Patricia Berry, who turned the former Crofton Hotel into the Osborne Bay Pub as one of the most popular destinations for food and entertainment on the Island. She’s also the owner of The Public Market in Chemainus, with a passion for creating beautiful community space and supporting the local economy.
“Since restarting the music, all the shows so far have sold out quickly and been an enormous success,” Berry noted. “Fills my heart with gratitude. It is not just the music, but the combination of amazing food, friendly service and comfortable ambiance that creates the perfect atmosphere for enjoyment and relaxation.”
Next on the Osborne Bay Pub entertainment lineup is Maple Blues Award winner and Juno nominee Brandon Isaak on stage with Pat Darcus on Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at eventbrite.
“This guy lives and breathes the blues,” Berry pointed out. “Brandon Isaak is an authentic, heartfelt roots and blues songster who always delivers the goods.”
Isaak brings a firebrand style of guitar as well as incredibly stirring vocals combined with a calibre of showmanship that makes the Canadian artist’s songs and stories stand out.
Darcus is a versatile bass player, encompassing a multitude of genres – traditional blues, swing, gospel, western swing, funk, reggae and good old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll.
Darcus and Isaak have performed in festivals and clubs the last couple of years as a dynamic duo.
