Sizzling summer sounds spice up the season in Crofton

August acts abundant after the long weekend at Osborne Bay Pub

There’s going to be some hot August nights at the Osborne Bay Pub, musically speaking.

Berry Music Company is presenting a jam-packed month of sizzling summer entertainment, with the Terrazetto Trio kicking things off at the pub after the long weekend on Friday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. There’s no cover.

Terrazetto spices up the stage with a musical world tour of original tunes blended with world beat reinventions of pop tunes by Sonny & Cher, Lou Reed, Eddy Vedder and Stevie Nicks.

Brandy Moore & The Nightcaps complete an outstanding weekend doubleheader on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Brandy Moore & The Nightcaps play classic rhythm and blues enjoyed by wildly enthusiastic audiences throughout southern Vancouver Island at private events, clubs and concerts since the band formed in early 2018.

Moore, a singer/songwriter and song interpreter with more than 25 years of performing experience, has appeared in Europe, Latin America, the United States and Canada.

Moore’s heartfelt delivery of both classic and original material has drawn comparisons to Bonnie Raitt, Eva Cassidy and Etta James.

She shares lead vocal duties with lead guitarist and singer Victor Wells. The dream team rhythm section is anchored by drummer Jon Miller.

A special event takes place Saturday, Aug. 17 with the Cowichan Valley Shimmy Mob’s Burger and Beer belly dancing fundraiser that’s already sold out. Proceeds go to support Cowichan Women Against Violence.

Popular Blue Moon Marquee is back Friday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance at Eventbrite and $20 at the door.

Blue Moon Marquee is a Gypsy Blues band consisting of A.W. Cardinal (vocals/guitar) and Jasmine Colette, a.k.a. Badlands Jass (vocals/ bass/drums). They write and perform original compositions influenced by anything that swings, jumps or grooves.

Jack, Ray & Ken bring the month to a close on Friday, Aug. 30 at 8 p.m., with tickets available at the door for $10.

The boys from Eagle Eyes – Ray Harvey, Jack Gunderson & Kenneth Ermter – perform as a power trio, bringing a fabulous roster of classics.
