She goes by her first name, he goes by his last. Together, they’re Roxeen & Dalrymple, a well-known musical act from Nova Scotia.

Roxeen Roberts and Gary Dalrymple are a classic guitar and mandolin vocal duet, performing in the traditional styles of bluegrass, country and gospel music. The Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society is featuring the pair in Chemainus on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the St. Michael and All Angels Church Hall, 2858 Mill St., at 7 p.m.

Roxeen & Dalrymple originally teamed up 25 years ago as bandmates with the legendary Spinney Brothers and are now performing together again, playing the music they cherish. They’re highly-respected, veteran musicians with an impressive resume.

They’re both multiple East Coast Music Awards nominees, Maritime Gospel Music awards nominees, and have won numerous Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Music Awards. They’ve toured coast-to-coast in Canada and the United States and now, after careers of extensive travel, performing and recording, the duo couldn’t be more excited about where they have landed musically.

Tickets are $12 in advance, available at Rainforest Arts at 9871 Willow St., or $15 at the door. You can also send an email for tickets to tickets@chemainusbluegrass.com.
