Bingo: Every Friday, doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6:30 p.m., Chemainus Legion 191 Hall, 9775 Chemainus Rd.

SATURDAY, JAN. 6

Pancake breakfast: $5, 9-10:30 a.m., Chemainus 55+ Activity Centre, 9824 Willow St., Chemainus.

SUNDAY, JAN. 7

Chemainus Classical Concerts: The Guitar Around The World, David Sossa, tickets $17 advance, $20 at the door, available at Owl’s Nest Bistro, Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn, 2 p.m., St. Michael’s Church, 2858 Mill St., Chemainus. Information: 250-748-8383.

MONDAY, JAN. 8

Bingo Mondays: Doors open at 4:45 p.m., bingo starts at 6:40 p.m., Chemainus 55+ Activity Centre, 9824 Willow St., Chemainus.

TUESDAY, JAN. 9

Saltair Quilters: meet every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saltair Community Centre (formerly known as Mount Brenton School), on South Oyster Road. The Saltair Quilters don’t just quilt, but also knit, crochet, embroider, stitch and bead. Drop in to check it out. Contact Cathy 250-924-2627.

Chemainus Art Group (formerly Chemainus Sketch Group): guest artist Yvonne van Der Koi will lead a mini workshop doing self portraits, free, bring art supplies, 9:30 a.m., Saltair Community Centre, 3850 South Oyster School Rd., Saltair, new members welcome.
