Wednesdays are Market Day in Chemainus.

The market is normally held from 1-6 p.m., but last week’s was changed to 10 a.m.-2 p.m. due to the extreme heat.

With generous support from the Chemainus Public Market and the Chemainus Business Improvement Association, the Chemainus & District Chamber of Commerce has brought the market back to the Waterwheel Park parking lot after a one-year absence due to COVID.

There’s lots of interesting products to check out from the numerous vendors, some new to the site and some returning from the last time the market was held in 2019.

Locals have been keeping it going with their support in the early stages, but with provincial health restrictions easing more as of July 1, an increase in tourists is expected.

The markets run each week until Sept. 1.
