Trick or Treat Chemainus brings the community together to celebrate Halloween next Saturday, Oct. 27.
The free family-friendly annual event is coordinated by the Chemainus Business Improvement Association and takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Waterwheel Park. The town will be filled with excited children and families.
The many activities at the event include: safe trick or treating at participating businesses; a fun scavenger hunt where children must find Halloween creatures in business windows; a spooky touch and feel guessing game put on by the C to Sea Lions Club; a costume contest at noon; and horse and trolley rides.
All the horse and trolley ride time slots are booked. People can sign up for the wait list and fill out contact information at http://visitchemainus.ca/halloween-reservation-2018/
“This year we’re adding an exciting new ‘funky pumpkin display’,” added Shelley Johnstone, coordinator for the CBIA. “We’re asking families to bring an already completed creative pumpkin to include in our display and for a chance to win prizes. Ideas include painting, decorating, carving, dressing-up - anything goes, so get creative.”
