Local students did very well in the judging for the Royal Canadian Legion’s literary and poster contest at the provincial level.

Brooklyn Stobbe of Crofton Elementary School received first place in the Intermediate black and white poster division. Her entry was sent on to the national part of the contest.

Stobbe also earned third place for her Intermediate colour poster.

Other results at the provincial level included: second place for Sue Youn Kim’s Senior colour poster and third place for Maddison James’ Primary colour poster. Those presentations were made Friday at the Chemainus Legion 191 Hall by president Len Lavender.

The presentation will be made to Stobbe next Wednesday at Crofton Elementary School by Chemainus Legion 191’s Janet Mitchell.
