Saltair Seedy Sunday is a growing trend.
The fourth annual event that gets people in a gardening frame of mind was held Sunday, March 5 at the Saltair Community Centre and there was a fantastic turnout from the public.
The weather was also in favour of the organizers after some previous days that looked anything like spring gardening season.
The gorgeous sunny day was a welcome relief for everyone still feeling absorbed in dealing with all the snow earlier in the week.
Pun intended, “Saltair Centre was buzzing with chatter and laughter,” noted Saltair Community Society member Jackie Rieck. “It was wonderful to feel such a great sense of community.”
The vendors, as always, were amazing and helped create a welcoming and cozy atmosphere.
Many generous cash donations for the food bank were received by those attending in lieu of an admission.
Several people also took advantage of the opportunity to sign up for Saltair Community Society membership.
They’ll do it all again in March 2024 with Seedy Sunday No. 5.
“In the meantime, we wish you a productive and plentiful garden growing season,” Rieck concluded.
