Saltair’s second annual Seedy Sunday served as a chance to celebrate spring and prepare for the gardening season ahead.

It was also an opportunity for folks to bring seeds, seedlings and plants to the Saltair Community Centre to trade or sell as well as to shop for new or heritage seeds.

Vancouver Island Master Gardeners Association members were on hand to provide answers to even the most perplexing gardening questions while Cowichan Green Community shared insight into its many projects. And local growers were available to pass along information about food security and sustainable gardening in the Cowichan Valley.

All in all, it was a great package for a Sunday afternoon outing hosted by the Saltair Community Centre Society.

Entertainment on the stage featured Mbira Spirit, The Free Radical Dixie Band and Jonathan Churcher.
