Citizens savoured a successful Saltair Seedy Sunday.

The event at the Saltair Community Centre featured some amazing vendors, who provided top-notch garden related items.

“Our hall was abuzz with activity, very akin to a giant beehive,” enthused Jackie Rieck, a Saltair Community Society director. “It was such a great time.”

People were obviously anxious to get out to a community event after so many have been cancelled the last two years due to COVID. And, with spring just around the corner, it brought out many looking forward to the seasonal change and getting on with working in their gardens.

A total of $590.60 was raised for the Chemainus Harvest House Food Bank from donations.

“We certainly live in a generous community,” praised Rieck.

She added special thanks to those who joined the Saltair Community Society. That patronage allows the society to host fun community events and also supports the organization in the operation of the Saltair Community Centre.

Jane Walton was the raffle winner of the Mason bee condo.

Joe and Samantha White from Saltair Coffee Shack and Albi Denardi from Artisanal Gelato took part in the event.

Saltair Seedy Sunday will be back again in March of 2023.
