Cowichan Valley Regional District Area G (Saltair/Gulf Islands) Director Lynne Smith hosted a Saltair Drive-by Stuff the Truck event at the end of her driveway Dec. 20, with donations gathered for the Chemainus and Ladysmith food banks.

It was a big success. “Lots of people walking or driving by stopped to donate food and/or cash,” Smith noted.

A total of $770 in cash was collected and the truck was stuffed at the end of the day.

“Kudos to all those that generously donated to the Saltair Drive-by Stuff the Truck,” Smith praised.

All the food and cash donations will be split between the Chemainus and Ladysmith food banks.

Santa Claus himself even stopped by for a visit along with a very COVID friendly neighbourhood dinosaur that attended with those in his bubble. You can just imagine how much fun it is to have a dinosaur living in your bubble.

“Saltair Spirit is amazing,” summed up Smith.
