Reminder from Murphy there’s a long weekend ahead again

Tip of the hat to Murphy as he prepares to switch from Canada Day to B.C. Day mode

Murphy, Chemainus’ unofficial holiday dog, loves his country.

Murphy hasn’t stopped celebrating Canada Day since July 1, all decked out in his tie, hat and shades.

But it will be time to turn in the Canadian colours soon, with the B.C. Day holiday on the horizon.

Owner Dee Gallant will surely be picking out Murphy’s attire for the next special occasion, with the next long weekend already coming up again.

Some get caught off-guard by this holiday’s sudden approach since it’s still July, but Murphy’s always happy to remind folks that, following Canada Day, it’s Aug. 1 B.C. Day that’s on the schedule next.
