Rainforest Arts in downtown Chemainus collected six huge boxes of donated items for its Cowichan Women Against Violence Society fundraising drive.

Included was one full box collected by the kindergarten class at Chemainus Elementary School.

“Four of the boxes were dropped off at CWAV before the ‘before Christmas cut-off date’,” noted Rainforest Arts Gallery Manager Stephanie Allesia.

The other two boxes and cash donations totalling $470 were to be dropped off early in the New Year.

The draw for the Ray Sapergia art pieces was held on Dec. 20th. The winners were: Patti Greenwell (wood vase) and Joanie Winnitoy (wood bowl).

“We were thrilled with the response to this campaign to benefit the Cowichan Women Against Violence and to be part of this caring community,” summed up Allesia.
