Carpet bowling’s equivalent to a hole-in-one in golf happened at the Crofton Seniors’ Centre last Monday on the B.C. Day holiday.

The team of Shirley Currie, Dave Hayward and Wendy Carey performed some eight-ender magic while playing against Marlaine Williams, Fern Brown and Larry Hutchinson.

“This means that all eight balls were counting,” noted Carey. “It happens, but rarely. A special pin is awarded when it happens.”

“Although the opposition only had five points, we all had a wonderful morning,” noted Williams in a gracious acceptance of being on the other end of the big score.

Williams added anyone who’s interested in carpet bowling, it takes place at 9 a.m. Mondays and 7 p.m. Fridays at the Crofton Seniors’ Centre.
