Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry is the proud owner of a blanked knitted by Chemainus United Church member Marjorie Coakwell.

She’s been knitting blankets as a fundraiser for the church and someone suggested it might be nice to send one to Henry as a thank you from Chemainus United Church for all she’s doing during this pandemic.

Helen Stephen wrote a letter on behalf of the church and the blanket was delivered to Henry’s office in Victoria.

“We hope there will be moments in the winter when you will be able to relax and that this blanket will bring warmth and comfort to you,” Stephen noted in the letter.

A few days later, a reply was received with a photo of Dr. Henry with the blanket. She extended her kind thanks through Laurel Thompson, executive coordinator for her office with the Ministry of Health.

Anyone interested in owning their own blanket that Henry is sure to make famous can contact the church for more information at 250-246-3463 on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
