During Fire Prevention Week, special praise and recognition is deserving of the Crofton Fire Department.
The department has long been a pillar of the community. Under the direction of current chief Matt Ludvigson and taking a page from the chiefs before him, the tradition continues in keeping everyone safe and serving the public in so many ways.
Whether it’s a fundraiser, driving firetrucks in a parade or whatever the case may be, department members are there to do their part.
While the department has a strong base, there’s always a need for more men and women interested in firefighting to join.
North Cowichan Fire Department is hiring paid on-call firefighters to fill positions in all four of its halls, including Crofton.
Anyone who’d like more information is welcome to drop in at the Crofton hall on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. to meet the station chief and ask questions about the role.
