‘Twas three weeks before Christmas

And it was not a charade,

All sorts of creatures were stirring

For the Crofton Christmas parade.

With Gabor Horvath at the helm

There wasn’t a worry,

The parade soon proceeded

Down Robert Street in a hurry.

To be placed near the start

Mayor Rob Douglas wanted clearance,

And along with three other councillors

They all made an appearance.

The crowd packed the street

Not giving an inch,

Then they stepped aside

To make room for the Grinch.

The Dog Father Rick Shay,

Supplied hot dogs at the event,

Warmland cooked ‘em up

Served just right in the tent.

There was hot chocolate, too

And Christmas carols filled the air,

The Warmland band delivered

The music with much flair.

When the parade came to an end

The children were on a mission,

For photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus

And to tell of the presents they’re wishin.’

All went home with memories

Of considerable good cheer,

Many people said they can’t wait

To do it again next year.
