The Syrian Dinner and Dance community fundraiser held at St. Joseph’s School was a huge success.

It’s estimated more than $10,000 was raised from ticket sales, auctions and raffles. An authentic Syrian dinner was served.

The Chemainus Community Refugee Sponsorship Team is grateful for the generous support shown by the community in helping to bring a Syrian family to Chemainus.

Many organizations and individuals were involved in the efforts to raise money.

The Refugee Sponsorship Team is continuing to meet on a regular basis and working on plans to finalize the sponsorship of a Syrian refugee family of six coming to Chemainus.
