The blue building on Chemainus Road that people seem to love to hate is getting a paint job.

Owner Blake Sam was on the scaffolding outside the building before the long weekend, beginning the process of converting the colour to Oxford grey with Benjamin Moore paint.

Sam said he had to do a lot of preliminary work to the building to prepare it for painting.

He expects to have the new coat complete before too long, but is doing all the work himself.

Early feedback has been highly favourable to the colour change.
