I had a hankering to go on the wood roller coaster at the PNE for the last few years.
This year, the dream came true. A good time was had by all. What with the ferries, hotels and meals, etc. the old debit card took a hit but it was worth every shekel.
When I got home, I loaded up the grandchildren in the sedan and drove from Westholme Road to the Crofton mill. I realized that I could have spent my vacation on that stretch of road instead of on that old wooden roller coaster.
The drive was gut-wrenching and totally chilling. There were twists, turns, drops, thrills and chills. You want to get off it, but you can’t. I think I even spotted a family of gophers residing in one of the many potholes.
Who needs the PNE when we have Crofton Road?
